ANDOVER, Mass., June 16, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Mercury Systems, Inc. (MRCY, www.mrcy.com), a leader in reliable and secure critical technologies for aerospace and defense, today announced a new family of ultra-compact, low-power tuner modules specifically designed to support customers’ spectrum processing applications such as signal intelligence (SIGINT), direction finding (DF), and test and measurement. The high-performance design and compact size of the new AM9018 and AM9030 modules enable faster wideband RF processing for mission-critical operations in harsh environments where space is limited, such as in small ISR drones and handheld SIGINT systems .
Why is this important:
Mercury’s innovative microwave technology provides the nimble broadband RF needed for SIGINT solutions to quickly identify and counter a target’s electronic signals and communications.
“Our customers need high-throughput performance in a compact size for their processing-intensive SIGINT applications such as electronic intelligence (ELINT),” said Clay Couey, principal and general manager, Mercury Microwave. “By developing our own monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) devices, we can design very small tuners – about the size of a few credit cards – that allow customers to build sufficiently compact signal collection platforms. to fit in a UAV, responding directly to mission requirements to counter adversary threats.
Mercury’s new SWaP-optimized RF tuners leverage the company’s custom MMIC design capability resulting from their recent acquisition of Atlanta Micro. These custom solid-state devices, available as stand-alone products, provide maximum space savings and high-speed performance.
Built with MMIC technology for maximum SWaP optimization
- Extremely low power 2–18 GHz tuner module
- Ultra-compact form factor: approximately 1.4″ x 3.0″ x 0.3″
- 1 GHz instantaneous bandwidth for fast signal interception
- Transmit (AM9030) and Receive (AM9018) variants available
Mercury envisions, creates and delivers innovative technology solutions specifically designed to meet the most pressing high-tech needs of its customers. Visit atlantamicro.com for more information or contact Mercury at (866) 627-6951 or [email protected]
